Studio Kishangarh Presents “Ishq Chaman” – A collection of Miniature art created by Princess Vaishnavi Kumari of Kishangarh’s with her Atelier’s Artists

21st MARCH | BIKANER HOUSE, NEW DELHI: Once again treating the collectors and connoisseurs of history with her inherited art, Vaishnavi Kumari, the Princess of Kishangarh presents ISHQ CHAMAN, a series of paintings from the Kishangarh school of miniatures. Dipping into the repertoire of styles this school is famed for, her art atelier STUDIO KISHANGARH presents a series that is inspired by the eternally sublime painting Boat of Love that was created during the reign of her ancestor Raja Savant Singh, the founder of this school of art. Curated by Monica Jain, Art Centrix, the show opens in collaboration with Arzani, an artisanal design studio created by the much celebrated architect and interior designer as a rich ode to India Hand-Made.
The inauguration was graced by HH Maharaja Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur as chief guest. Introduced by Monica Jain, the evening also saw HH Maharaja Brajraj Singh of Kishangarh share knowledge nuggets on the art with Raseel Gujral Ansal and textile designer Peter D’ascoli.
Ishq Chaman seeks to engage visitors with Kishangarh’s uniquely intricate, yet emotionally charged, miniature art. The exhibitions emphasise our dedication to the preservation of India’s diverse artistic traditions, while also inviting new interpretations that speak to contemporary sensibilities.
With this collaborative show, Art Centrix takes forward its sojourn into traditional art, launching Art Centrix Heritage. Taking inspiration from Monica’s vision, Ishq Chaman extends into immersive experiences that deepen the connection with Kishangarh’s artistic heritage. A guided tour to Kishangarh will take visitors to its architectural marvels, including the Kishangarh Fort. On the opening night, a curated walkthrough will unravel the deeper layers of Kishangarh iconography, tracing the intricate relationships between poetry, painting, and devotion.
As Raja Savant Singh, under his poetic pseudonym Nagri Das, once wrote: “I can hear it faintly, the sound of his flute; I can hear it. Now neither house nor courtyard can contain me. With my whole being, I long for union.”
These words, written centuries ago, still resonate today, just as the images crafted by Nihal Chand continue to stir hearts. Through Ishq Chaman, Art Centrix Space invites audiences to rediscover this poetic legacy—to step into a world where art is an act of love, where romance is immortalised in brushstrokes, and where the past speaks vibrantly to the present.
Vaishnavi opens her show in collaboration with design visionary Raseel Gujral Ansal who treats the art lovers to her carefully collected and crafted collection of art, art d’objets and collectibles brought together at her freshly minted store ARZANI that came alive in Bikaner House earlier this month.
In a world where endless luxury thrives Arzaani, a luxury atelier, is set to redefine the landscape of Indian design. Nestled in Bikaner House Delhi, Arzaani is the brainchild of the illustrious Raseel Gujral Ansal, a visionary who has woven her passion for art, design, and luxury into a seamless fusion of artistry, heritage and luxury.

ABOUT STUDIO KISHANGARH
Founded in 2010 by Princess Vaishnavi Kumari of Kishangarh, Studio Kishangarh is dedicated to revitalising the exquisite tradition of Kishangarh miniature painting. Drawing on her expertise in design and art history, as well as the royal family’s longstanding patronage of the arts, music, and literature, Princess Vaishnavi is committed to bringing this rich artistic heritage to a global audience.
Nestled within the historic Kishangarh Fort, the studio embodies a seamless fusion of classical aesthetics and contemporary innovation. By integrating traditional miniature painting techniques with modern materials and concepts, Studio Kishangarh has cultivated a distinctive artistic language. Its mission extends beyond preservation—it seeks to ensure the continued evolution of this heritage by providing employment to local artists and artisans, many of whom have inherited this craft through generations.
Over the past decade, Studio Kishangarh has developed a signature style— a modern interpretation of Kishangarh miniature painting and Picchwai art. This unique approach is often inspired by the royal collection, the architectural grandeur of Kishangarh’s forts and palaces, and the evocative beauty of devotional poetry.
Through this dynamic blend of tradition and innovation, Studio Kishangarh serves as both a cultural guardian and a creative force, reimagining a centuries-old art form for contemporary audiences.
